The Lost Tapes

There was a few albums I intended to add to the last post but wound up spacing  so I’ve decided rather than to let them be lost to the ages that I would post them here, but make sure not to let my negligence on posting them be any indication of their worth as they are every bit dope as the last 20 well i guess you’ll just find out for yourself ey? – In no particular order these are the lost tapes:

Optms Prme – Doppelbelastungsbitch

Grreat sounds from one german producer entitled Optms Prme!

Arp 101 – Mystery Man

Yes well while you were worrying about how it’s technically not a “tape” I was groovn to one of the best future-funk stylings of the era.

Arp 101 – Mystery Man

Stikz – LazyDeyz

Extraordinary computer music from a 18 year old Austrian producer of which I’ve been seeing do some really fresh things recently.

CalicoLeaf – Adderspine

Chillwave experimentalism brought to you by CalicoLeaf

The Outer Peoples – Iconoclast

A very large and quite nice album by some outer peoples

Luisterwaar – Illuminants

Yet another great from Saturate.

“Producer Luc Derks from Heerlen, Netherlands calls himself Luisterwaar.
When skateboarding at the age of 14 he listened to a lot of music, and
found to him, music is 95% crap and 5% good. Disgusted by many artists
on the radio, the web gave him influences like Breakcore, D`n`B,
Electro, Hip-Hop and Trip-Hop.
While listening to all of that, he said to himself, if he could make his
own music it would be
all of those genres together. Some years later he got hold of a computer
and started squeezing dirty noises out of that poor little sucker.” -Luisterwaar Music

Cestladore – Short Walks At Night

Local music released off friends label stylss and many friends remixing, this is how we do!

Optms Prme – My Micra Weighs a Ton

Odd groove extrodinaire by Optms Prme!

Beat-Tape Monsta Pack

Well yes it appears I have done it again – another some while without posting.. it is clear what i must do to rectify this tragic situation: drop you guys with another free monster pack of everything i’ve failed to cover over this last bit, going to keep the reviews light due to the shear amount of material (sorry producers, labels etc.)

Punchin in at 20 healthy beat-tapes rolled up in this one!

ordered in a very lazy attempt of chronological here we gooooooo!

(please note although all of the tapes can be dl’d free most also have a donate option which directly helps support that artist)

This is a collection of tracks I’ve been holding on to that weren’t associated with any projects ( thus the name bogarding ) . Thanks to all the producers who contributed and thanks to everyone that will take the time to listen . Y’all are great
Peace – Jondis

Loose Screwz – 20,000 Years From Tomorrow

cyberfuck future at it’s most absurd released by Farfetched imprint

QS/VS4 – Go Savant (Remix Album)

Astounding remix Ep of “Go Savant” (the collaborative project of Italian beatmakers Grillo and Uxo) released off Queen Spectra records entirely free!

“Here they come Again: The Savants are back!
But they are not the same. The Virus has been spread and 4 maverick producers have been engaged to join our cosmic army after being infected.
The first to join this new mission is Munis who got Nebula Red and broke its previous organic flow into a broken riddim which cripples into jazzy synths, epic arpeggios and a pad which seems to arise from underwater like a scuba.
Then is up to Spin Off who reworked Empathy encreasing the funky feeling with a strong PFUNK approach: this sliding funky lead and claps are what we were waiting for to party wild.
…Grovekingsley jumped onboard with his ESP then: Chasing Esper becomes a narcolectic slowmotion trip made by gentle concrete sounds, low frequencies oscillations, droning vocoders and interstellar tensions.
The EP closes with the veteran Colossius who took care of the Rainbow with his classic style made of crushy synths and punching kick drums.
Listen Up then Back to the Earth.” – Queen Spectra Records

Zerolex – Musique Ré-Apprivoisée

Product of the rapidly uprising french beat scene MPC beatmaker Zerolex (recently featured on the Miqi O. remix album) has been doing some really fresh stuff recently and this exquisite remix album is by no means an exception count on seeing much more of this guy around here ;)

As well the first remixer SorG recently released a really nice debut Ep for a mere 2 euro’s of which you can check here: http://sorg.bandcamp.com/

Moscow – The Hyaline

Brighton’s Donkey pitch is quite rapidly becoming one of my favorite labels and if this 3rd part of their free album series is any indication of where their going then It’s quite possible they will be. Not a single beat amiss from these incredible fellas, pushin tones ranging from skweee to wonky to slugabed i would keep my ears close to the speakers for these guys if i were you!

When not blogging about food (apparently anything will go in a panini), holding down Brighton’s Sizzurp party or writing music for tv shows, Theo Celano crafts synthed out instrumentals. The Hyaline EP (pronounced ‘higher-lean’ – meaning glassy, smooth or polished) ranges from melody soaked slow jams to crunked-up floor-fillers, and as such is a perfect addition to the Donky stable. -Donkey Pitch

fruits x MusoNi – Mameselle

Really tight split ep by montreal producers fruits & MusoNi checkiT!

DL LINK HERE

Infinite Loop – Speed of Sound

Really nice hip hop with an 8 bit flavor’

Afterhours Sessions 03 Rbe

Straight up offbeat hiphop released by russian label ritmo sportivo’s new project “afterhours sessions”.

Check “5am lofi” for my personal fave

Wermonster – More Embryonauts

The remix sequel to “Embrynaut Ep” of which I deeply contemplated posting I really loved it but worryed it would be a bit too hip hop for your taste, now however you will deal with it or leave ;)

A truly nice start if a bit squishy, to move into a gloom spooky one which will eventually work into a really awesome able8 joint which i have really seen coming up recently, to morph into a real hip hop finish!

Snubluck – The Flying Machine

Another great abstract/glitch album by denver producer Snubluck

Nico Luminous – Unearth The Diamond

And for the mega-pack finish we will bring it home with a nice dubbily influenced luvstep/glitch-hop Ep.

Yes well we all know about LA badman Nico and if not most definitely should. really tight soft synths abound in this one with a truly undeniable groove. And yes that is Nico’s voice you hear towards the end ;)

“the Brand Brand new! Glitch-a-delic Soul Whomp.
Thank you for tuning in. I’m very excited to present the world with “Unearth the Diamond”. A 5 track Ep fresh for 2012…It’s an amalgamation of my love for Glitch Hop, Dubstep, Lazer Bass, Soul and Dub. A lot of Love and effort when into this I hope you Enjoy;)

This is a FREE album download ;D but yes, donations are very very much appreciated ;)
Thank you!!” – Nico Luminous

Trifecta Soopahselecta #2

The return of the elusive and mysterious soopahselecta!

That’s right four more illustrious beat-tapes for your minds to melt on! All free downloads!

Yes I said four I know it’s contrary to the title but your gonna get an extra free album so deal with it. :)

Ordered in a random and illogical manner starting with the ‘Sauce Ep’ here we gooooooo!

#1: Sauce – Self Titled Ep

So this post might be a bit confusing for many of you due to the fact this is not the same “sAuce” from Missoula Montana that has been featured here many times before, the key distinguishment in their names is that the capital is one alphanumerical digit to the left with this ‘Sauce’… well anyway they’re tight beats so forget about the name and puff these heady joints down with joy nonetheless.

The great folk at dub temple records host this marvelous debut Ep by the Australian native “Sauce” and bwoy is it one strong debut! Although I can’t fathom whats coming next from this beat blasta I am eagerly awaiting it and am absolutely certain that it’s gonna rock the charts!

Sorry Caleb the kid’s dope, had to feature :)

#2 Hyphae III Compilation

Hyphae III is a string of events across the world happening on the 25 of feb, going down at places such as The Hague, Berlin, Glasgow, Lisbon, Reykjavik, Gothenburg, Brussels and maybe even more. The events will feat. live physical acts as well as ”livestreamed” sessions from a diverse selection of both upcoming and established musicians from the US, Slovenia, Brazil, Slovakia, Scotland, England, Portugal, Germany and the Netherlands .

This is a compilation to both hype & celebrate that. Hyphae III seams to nearly seamlessly flow between artists, styles and tracks. The first half starts it mellow with assorted downbeat and hip-hop grooves, then in the middle Ben Butler & Mousepad drop a wonderful and upbeat retro synthy tune, continuing on that tip the next three tracks to follow stay on a upbeat and synth heavy vibe, then bringing it back around for a relaxed and ambient 10 minute long finish.

Anyway great album dl it free, and if your not near any of the events by the 25th then you can tune in online at the same link you dl from..

DOWNLOAD

Featuring Mux Mool, Alphabets Heaven, Ben Butler & Mousepad, Jimmy Pé, Oknai, Moon Wheel, Pazes, IVVVO and Steindór Kristinsson

#3 Handbook – Layerism

Really pleasant stuff from beatmaker/instrumentalist Jake Brown aka Handbook. Been following this guy for a while now and not sure if he’s getting more beat oriented or i’m getting more instrumental, but either way I think this album is sick and i think you might too.

#4 Tributes To James Dewitt Yancey

And yes you know it wouldn’t be trifecta-soopahselecta unless I ended it with a dilla tribute. So here’s a really nice compilation of some pre-released and some new tributes to one of the shepherds of the beat scene as we know it today; the late great jay dee.

Released by Hypedog this James Dewitt Yancey tribute features really nice productions & remixes by artists from across the globe including 14KT, Abjo, Ahwlee, Astronote, BMB aka Space Kid, BoomBaptist, Dibiase, Flying Lotus, Haz Solo, Hir-O, House Shoes, DaveNotti, JuSoul, K15, Knxwledge, Languid, L’Orange, M-Phazes, Mecca:83, Mndsgn, Nameless, Oddisee, Offbeatkid, Ohbliv, OriJanus, Raj Mahal, RAJA, Rbe., Samiyam, SertOne, Stray Phrases, Ta-Ku & Waajeed.

Fortune Howl – Spectrum Analysis (FREE LP!)

17 year old “Relief In Abstract” label acolyte Bryce Linde aka Fortune Howl just completely crush’s it with this album wow seriously going down as one of my favorite albums released of all time (that’s saying a hell of alot as I have just over 300 gigs of albums on my HD lolz!).

This wiz kid hailing from Orlando Florida could be described as nothing less than a genius… but don’t take my word for it no watch for yourself as he skillfully weaves dazzling arrays of broken melody’s upon a surface of monolithic punchy drum patterns & chopped vocals that say nothing yet sing an elaborate tale of their own… backed with glistening arps, vast floating ever-fluctuating pads & ground shaking synth lines coated with blappy bloops and topped with timed-to-the-tea glitch’s that also entail a melody all of their own for the discerning listener.

This album truly has a little something for everyone; for the more broken-minded of us we can find a peace in the organized chaos of it yes a ‘Relief In Abstract’, however if your more traditional minded you may also find incredible structure in these deeply emotional hymns, hell even if you just like mindshaking bangers howl’s gotcha covered on that tip too!

If you know how to listen their’s no telling how much you can extrapolate from this album, personally I’m taken on a magnificent journeys hopping from star to star planet to planet pioneering new lands of rolling grass hills, crashing waves and beautiful meadow’s suitable for gentle colonization and others already inhabited with unimaginable technology; ivory obelisks reaching to the clouds above that serve as a beacon to their fleet and a signal to other marvelous races that there is peace and prosperity in this eden where technology benefits the world rather than hinders it…

Well I can’t tell you what you’ll see in this magnificent Lp but I can tell you I’m in love with it and it will be on non-stop rotate around here, and I think you may also find yourself sitting on the edge of your chair waiting for what unimaginable amazingness Fortune has in store for us waiting around the corner.

Dl Mirror

Please note although this album is ever so generously gifted freely you also have the option to donate, and I’ve never said this before but please do! I need more Fortune Howl!! and all proceeds go directly to supporting this brilliant artist and his extraordinary sounds!

Dude WOAH check out “Conveyor Dreams” & “Indian Ink” and “Fess Up” and “Backslap” also…. wait no I’m just gonna wind-up listing all of them haha so just do that; rinse thoroughly from start to finish no dry just rinse-repeat lol :)

“Fortune Howl is the alias of upcoming 17 year old beat producer, Bryce Linde. Hailing from Orlando, FL, Bryce has been influenced to create soundscapes and textures that define his own sound, outwardly eclectic and different from the traditional Orlando music scene. With his first two full-lengths he has been described as “the Mozart of bedroom synths.” Fortune Howl fits among his contemporaries, Flying Lotus, Boards of Canada, and even James Blake.” – Relief In Abstract

Boss Kite – Comicon Ep

Damn, tem donkey pitcha’s done did it again! The good brighten fellas @ Donkey Pitch are already on their 6th release and somehow are still staying so real to their original sound, I mean damn not even one bad release, not even a hint of diminishing or slowing down, n fact it’s quite apparent the incredible amount of momentum their gaining, …mayb by this time next year Daniel Savio will be president of the world :)

Stirrin us up in a Ep chocked with copious amounts of sexskweee the donkey dudes keep it local and hook us with the marvelous sounds of brighton’s funkblasta himself the mayn ‘Boss Kite’. Draggin a heavy dose of scandanavian synth funk which one could only associate under the undefined title of the mysterious and illustrious ‘Skweee’.

Comicon push’s quirky melody’s happily chirping along a off-kilter drum pattern, complete with wonking synth jazz influenced rifts that take us along an obscure ever-evolving adventure of silly, uplifting, cheerful and at times downright goofy exploits.

The genre that one may call ‘Skweee’ is only ruled by one inherent trait and that’s to be wildly experimental, sometimes reckless and always fun! And oh god I can’t tell you how much of a relief it is to have some good ol skweee in an increasingly juke dominated culture.

The refreshing, nutritious & delicious last track ‘Fruit Smoothie’ also features vocals imported from canada provided by the good sir Motëm ! Damn I like smoothies!

(Don’t forget this album can be dl’d free although all donations go directly to supporting the wonderful peoples involved and the wonderful sounds they make!)

Oh! and also check this you’ll soon know radio show podcast for NTS feat. Tim parker, Grinel, then Boss Kite Playing live then Tim Parker again! also a tight boss kite vid yoo can hit!
